SOUNDBITE (English), Roberta METSOLA, EP President, Dear colleagues. The brave defence by Ukrainians against the illegal Russian invasion continues. This war of aggression has also impacted global food security. We are all aware of the potential devastating effects on global hunger if food supplies are undermined or weaponized.

SOUNDBITE (English), Roberta METSOLA, EP President, The United Nations Black Sea Grain Initiative meant that millions of people have had access to food and basic supplies from Ukraine. This agreement could expire later this week. And I want to call together with this parliament for its renewal as quickly as possible. The situation is urgent and dire.
