SOUNDBITE (English), Belfast rezident, I just know that it was the end of like the conflict in Northern Ireland, and that it's when Catholics and Protestants, like, got equal rights.

SOUNDBITE (English), Belfast rezident, In this country it's definitely it was needed in the 90s and 2000s. Now, maybe not so much in my opinion. I think we have become a lot more. I think with this new generation, and coming after the agreement, it is. We're not you know, there's not a lot as much trouble at the, you know, now, and I think we're kind of I feel like we're past that. So I think it is would be an idea to see if a one party government could work here.

SOUNDBITE (English), Belfast rezident, I was really young at the time whenever it first came out. But I mean, I can vaguely remember the Troubles beforehand. I used to live down the road and there would have been, you know, with the...there would have been a lot of trouble, you know, around the 12th of July and things like that. With the marches and things like that. And obviously a lot has stopped to a large degree anyway, I feel, anyway.

SOUNDBITE (English), Belfast rezident, It obviously must have made a difference because, if like people my age, like, have like, if it's had an impact like now, because like, nobody cares about it now. If it was to go away, there probably might be a difference and it might go back to like what it was, which is quite scary.

SOUNDBITE (English), Belfast rezident, It's kind of basically a compromise between unionism and nationalism in which there was an agreement that the future of this place will be resolved by the people who live here, and in a peaceful and democratic manner.

SOUNDBITE (English), Belfast rezident, I was only born in 1998, so it's really difficult to gauge, but I certainly feel there's a lot less hostility between things amongst young people. Young people are just want it like.. We're both students and we're just wanting to get on with our studies and all. We don't really pay much attention to it.

SOUNDBITE (English), Belfast rezident, I think it was in 1998, after the Troubles, it brought peace. There was a whole thing about the June national holiday, sort of trying to resolve tensions at that time. I think it was a good thing back then. Yeah.
