Representatives of the three films shortlisted for the Lux Audience award are in Strasbourg and speak about the lessons to be drawn from the stories portrayed in their movies. Statement by Sebastian Meise, director of "Great Freedom". The story unfolds during three different periods in the same prison, jumping back and forth between 1945, 1957 and 1968 (a year before the law was partially repealed "Aticle 175"), building a mesmerising narrative while offering an acute exploration of the main character and the German society during that time. LGBTQ+ and rule of law are two thematics underligned in this film.
