While in Paris citizens join with MEP Berès in live debate on unemployment, the committees will see votes on product safety and greater representation of women in top jobs.

On the Agenda: consumer safety, tackling unemployment & gender equality

Products sold or bought in the EU  have to abide by safety standards

but recently there’s been  a 26% increase in dangerous products

especially as of more and more  of us shop online.

New changes are on the cards to tighten  rules, restore consumer confidence,

get business booming  and snub out rogue trading.

The Internal Market Committee votes on the  draft report on Product Safety on Thursday.

Set up after the financial crisis,  the European Globalisation Fund

helps people made redundant find new jobs.

Criticized for being too slow  in providing help, it faced the axe.

With funding back on the table,  Member States want the fund to apply

to those on temporary, short-term  or self-employed contracts.

The Employment Committee will vote to  adopt the deal with the States on Thursday.

and get more women  on the boardrooms of big companies.

The goals: to get representation up  to 30% by 2015 and 40% by 2020.

But with 85% of men holding the top jobs  and so far only 24 companies

signing a pledge to end inequality,  reaching those goals will be tough.

The EP's Women’s Rights Committee  is set to vote on the draft report on Tuesday.

A month after the launch,  it’s time for citizens to React,

as Paris plays host to an exchange of ideas  on tackling unemployment.
