The LUX European Audience Film Award ceremony takes place in Parliament’s hemicycle in Brussels. Parliament and the European Film Academy award the LUX prize to help the distribution of European films with significant artistic merit that reflect cultural diversity in Europe and beyond. Teacher's lounge is the winner of the 2024 edition of the prize. Five films were shortlisted for the 2024 LUX Audience Award: Teacher's lounge by Ilker ÇATAK, Smoke sauna sisterhood by Anna HINTS, Film Adamant by Nicolas PHILIBERT, Fallen leaves by Aki KAURISMÄKI, and 2000 species of bees by Estibaliz URRESOLA SOLAGUREN.

Opening ceremony with moderator, Brussels , Belgium, 06/04/2024, (1 shot) - You've probably be aware of that, the fact that there's many other film awards, but this award is extra interesting because nowadays people, you European audience can vote, can rate the different films, which is actually a rather new thing because back in the day only members of European Parliament would raise the different films and thereby select the winner and thereby representing the voice of European people.

The overwhelming response with more than 22,000 ratings, reflects the deep appreciation for European cinema and the values portrayed in the nominated films.
