but let’s see what’s happening  next week at the Plenary in Strasbourg.

Last year, the Civil Liberties Committee  held 15 meetings

to try and get to the bottom  of the NSA hacking row.

It’s now time for MEPs to approve  the recommendations of the inquiry.

But what could help to create  stricter privacy laws

Two new reports aim to control how  our information is shared and protected.

And part of the new laws  specifically point to the NSA hacking row.

New provisions would force foreign  companies to submit requests

Could the arbitrary powers  of the Troika be at an end?

MEPs have been looking into the  governance and social impact

of austerity programmes  pushed through by the Commission,

International Monetary Fund and the  European Central Bank.

Now they vote to approve  a more democratic mandate

including, in the long-term,  Parliament's involvement.

The resolution to reject  the Commission’s seed regulation proposal

Farmers, citizens and activists  across the EU went up in arms

over the curbs  on biodiversity and freedom of choice.

And the Agriculture Committee  followed suit, voting to reject the proposal

on the grounds it would give  the Commission too much power.
