Atmosphere : MEPs Eduard Kukan (EPP), Tanja Fajon (S&amp;D), Jozo Rado&scaron; (ALDE) and Igor &Scaron;oltes (Greens) took the initiative to distribute more than 750 Flowers of Srebrenica to all MEPs  (8 shots)

SOUNDBITE (German), Martin SCHULZ, EP President, <p>"Today we commemorate, and we think about the people who were killed 20 years ago in the Bosnian town of Srebrenica. 8.000 young men and boys were killed over the shooting in those days, in a most brutal manner, this, in the heart of Europe, before the eyes of the world. This was the worst war crime committed in Europe since the end of the Second World War. An act of genocide,  they should never been allowed to happen, a collective failure of the international community , is something that shames us to this date."</p>

A stable and secure neighbourhood is in our own interest, Europe is prepared to open the way to all these who respect the rule of law and democracy, reconciliation is the key to our security, and we need to have strong cooperation with the Western Balkans.
