SOUNDBITE (English), Roberta METSOLA, President of the European Parliament, <p><b></b>Thank you to share this experience with you. And thank you for the work that you do, especially over the past five years when identifying legislation that was coming our way. I can be very open in saying that the first alarm bells were most of the time sounded by you. And that has meant that we could have been prepared in identifying specific related positions in individual pieces of legislation, such as this one that is currently ongoing for example on the on the manufacturing index instruments that we were that was discussed, but also on how important it was to put in the island perspective in legislative packages. We could have done much more. We can do much better in the next five years. Interaction between institutions can be better. You cannot play that role. And also in bringing the national government position with a country wide position that would be adopted both in Council and Parliament and Commission.</p>
