SOUNDBITE (English), Sabine VERHEYEN (EPP, DE), Now, the films will be shown on different events. We will have screenings from the Parliament, we have screenings from the Commission. There will be the commercial screenings in the cinemas. But everyone who watched the movies has the possibility from the 12th of December until the beginning of June to vote for the movie. On the 8th June, we will have a ceremony here in the House, where then the results of the votes of the elections for the best film will be pronounced and we have the ceremony here in this House.

SOUNDBITE (English), Sabine VERHEYEN (EPP, DE), In the last year, we had high difficulties, very huge problems with the pandemic because many cinemas were locked down for months so that there was just a few opportunities really to watch the movies. I hope this year it will be different because we have the possibilities with 2G or other regulations, with being vaccinated, with being recovered or being tested to go to a cinema. Even also this year, we have still some COVID restrictions. I hope that the cinemas can stay open.

SOUNDBITE (English), Sabine VERHEYEN (EPP, DE), I hope this year that even we have still some restrictions for the cinemas and still very difficult times that many people take the opportunity to watch the movies and really take part in the votes because it is a very important signal also to the European movie sector, to the European film sector, to support them, to help them in this very difficult times of the COVID-19 crisis. There are wonderful stories we have to tell in Europe, and I hope that you listen to these stories because we all can learn also out of that.
