On 24 February 2022 Russia launched an all-out assault on Ukraine. European leaders and the European Parliament condemned this unprovoked and unjustified military aggression in the strongest possible terms, as it grossly violates international law and undermines European and global security. The brave People of Ukraine, represented by their President Volodymyr ZELENSKYY, elected leaders, and civil society were nominated as winners for the Sacharov Prize 2022 jointly by EPP, S&amp;D and Renew Europe.
