SOUNDBITE (Italian), Caterina CHINNICI (S&amp;D, IT), Unfortunately still today some member states do not implement the requirements in the Commission Communication on minors migrants which was presented over a year ago. It&rsquo;s terrible that many minors migrants are being held in detention centres just because their migrants and we hope that the council will support the position of the Parliament which has been calling to the abolition of these practices for a long time.

SOUNDBITE (English), Anna Maria CORAZZA BILDT (EPP, SE), Registration is crucial to ensure the children enter and remain under the protection system. It can help authority's to find missing children. Children should not be detained just because the on migrants. In case of crime they should be treated as an EU national. We have a responsibility to ensure that refugee children go from fear to hope for the future. When given a real chance to integrate they can become an asset to our society in Europe. And education is key for integration and to prevent crime and radicalisation it should include learning about our European values, learn languages and the respect for women and the rule of low.

SOUNDBITE (English), V&#277;ra JOUROV&#193;, Member of the EC in charge of Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, Large numbers of children continue to arrive to Europe. According to the latest data published by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in March this year between January and September 2017 a total of 25,379 Jordan arrived in Greece Italy Spain and Bulgaria. Of those 58% right unaccompanied or separated children.
