The European Parliament’s Autumn 2022 Eurobarometer was carried out by Kantar between 12 October and 7 November in all 27 EU Member States. The survey was conducted face-to-face, with video interviews (CAVI) used additionally in Czechia and Denmark. 26.431 interviews were conducted in total. EU results were weighted according to the size of the population in each country. It turns out that 93% of Europeans concerned by cost of living crisis, EU-wide survey finds, 46% of citizens say that their standard of living has already been reduced due to the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, Russia’s war against Ukraine and the cost of living crisis.

The most worried issues are: the rising cost of living (93%), poverty and social exclusion (82%), climate change (81%) and the spread of the war in Ukraine (81%).

Bill-paying dificulties: yes (39%) and no (60%)

Impact on the standard of the living by multiple crises (Covid-19, war in Ukraine, ...): yes (46%), not yet, but they expect to be impacted (39%) and they do not expect any impact (14%)

What Europeans think the European Parliament should focus on: the fight against poverty and social exclusion (37%), public health (34%), action against climate change (31%) and supporting the economy and creating new jobs (31%)

What europeans think the EP should defend as a matter of priority: democracy (36%), human rights in the EU and worldwide (29%), Freedom of speech and thought (28%) and the rule of law (24%)

Approve or disapprove the EU supporting to Ukraine: approve (74%) and disapprove (23%)

Benefit or not from being a member of the EU: benefited (72%) and not benefited (22%)

Benefits of being a member of the EU: maintaining peace and strengthening security (36%), allowing for better cooperation between Member States (35%) and contributing to economic growth (30%)
