SOUNDBITE (French), Emmanuel MACRON, President of the French Republic, I am pleased to meet in Paris today with the President of the European Parliament, after the discussion we had on the last 22 June. We discussed several issues : first, the transnational lists for the European elections of 2019. I consider that Brexit offers us the opportunity, not to redistribute on a national key the seats released, but to create a new European democratic space and to have a true European debate through the transnational lists.

SOUNDBITE (French), Emmanuel MACRON, President of the French Republic, On the question of the posted workers, I thank the President for the position he has taken publicly and I explained that we were in the negotiation with all partners with the wish to reach an agreement under the Estonian Presidency, that means before the end of the year. So that we can deeply reform the framework directive of the posted workers, something we absolutely need.

We want to defend the European "savoir faire". At the beginning of October, there will be the conclusion of the trilogue on the new anti-dumping rules and I hope that we will protect the European industry.
