EU-Japan Strategic Partnership Agreement: extracts from the vote on the report by Alojz PETERLE (EPP, SI) and illustrative shots

MEPs vote on whether to give their consent to the recently signed Strategic Partnership Agreement between the EU and Japan in the Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET) in the European Parliament in Brussels. This treaty was signed in parallel to the free trade deal on 17 July and aims to strengthen cooperation in more than 40 areas, such as foreign policy and security issues, climate change and disaster management. The final vote was adopted by 43 votes, with 2 against and 9 abstentions.
