SOUNDBITE (English), Roberta METSOLA, EP President, When I joined the European Parliament ten years ago, I thought only big countries could do, you know, the big jobs. It's not the case. Denmark's pretty good at doing that. It's one of the largest countries, it is a strong country right in the centre of Europe. I want you to be proud of being EU citizens. 

SOUNDBITE (English), Roberta METSOLA, EP President, What does the European Parliament do? So, we get together. It's not always easy from all 27 different countries. We sit in different political groups from left to right. The majority is somewhere in the centre of the political spectrum. We get together, we say, okay, on climate, what are we going to do? How are we going to make sure that Europe is the most climate, ambitious continent on the planet, by 2030, but most importantly, by 2050, when we would have had to take the decisions. Now on digital, how do we make sure that we have the best legislation, laws on artificial intelligence? How will artificial intelligence potentially hamper our work? Interfere in elections? Is it necessary for us to regulate? Absolutely. We now have the world's first piece of legislation on artificial intelligence.  <p></p>
