Introductory remark by Roberta METSOLA, EP President on the fifth anniversary of the 2018 terrorist attack at the Christmas market of Strasbourg

SOUNDBITE (English), Roberta METSOLA, EP President, I have three announcements. The first one is referring to the fact that today we mark five years since the horrific terror attack in Strasbourg that claimed the lifes of five innocent people and left dozens more injured. Among the victims were two journalists working for a Europhonica, Bartek Orent-Niedzielski from Poland and Antonio Megalizzi from Italy. And for their work in promoting the initiatives of the European Parliament and for the heroism in successfully preventing the attacker from entering a place full of people in the centre of Strasbourg. They will always be remembered in this House and beyond.
