This compromise was long and difficult, but we have managed to achieve it thanks to the determination and hard work of many of you. I ask for your broad support in the vote tomorrow.

SOUNDBITE (English), R&oacute;ża Gr&auml;fin von THUN UND HOHENSTEIN (EPP, PL), Today, we have proven that the European Union can deliver concrete results for the citizens all over Europe, bringing positive changes in their daily lives. But for the full compilation of the digital single market, we still need many reforms. We need to do our best to break down national silos. There is no place for protectionism in our European market.

SOUNDBITE (English), R&oacute;ża Gr&auml;fin von THUN UND HOHENSTEIN (EPP, PL), The next step is the need to harmonize VAT rules, unify copyrights protection rules and open up the services market in the audiovisual sector. In addition, we need to improve the functioning of parcel delivery within the EU. I am counting on the European Commission to continue the role of a leader in this process. I hope that the Council will help us in this efforts. As for us, in the Parliament, I hope to see this project in the forefront of our agenda. Already now, I am looking forward to the review in 2 years.
