Next year’s budget for investing in the EU and its member states, which was agreed with the Council on 18 November, is put to the plenary vote and immediately signed into law by David SASSOLI, EP President, during the plenary session (25-28 November 2019) of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

SOUNDBITE (Italian), David SASSOLI, EP President, The conciliation committee reach an agreement on the 18th of November. This has been approved by the Parliament and the Council. The budgetary procedure has been carried out in accordance with Article 3 1 4 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and the other provisions on the budget for 2020. Therefore, the budgetary procedure can now be deemed concluded in that the budget has now officially been definitively adopted for 2020. I shall now proceed to sign the said budget.
