The previous government has done a whole lot to reverse our course from bankruptcy, in Serbia three years ago was three months away from bankruptcy as stated by the world bank, so the previous government has done a whole lot to turn that Titanic away from the iceberg and enabled this government to have a strong and solid base for future further growth.

SOUNDBITE (English), Ana BRNABI&#262;, We have started the implementation of a whole lot of e-government procedures, so to introduce e-government, which to me is an answer for 3 big challenges - one is transparency of the public administration, the second one is openness and standardisation predictability of the public administration as a citizen or as a business person when you go to the public administration what you are required to submit and the third one is fight against corruption because when you cut the red tape, you fight corruption.

SOUNDBITE (English), Ana BRNABI&#262;, We really want to do our job, so that when we are ready to join the EU and when the EU is ready to open its doors for new members, we are equal member of the European family of nations that can support the European Union because that is the only way for all of us to keep going forward. SOUNDBITE (English), Eduard KUKAN (EPP, SK), It will be important to keep focus on quality of some reforms, as for example in key areas of justice and rule of law, but also fight against corruption and civil rights and liberties. Moreover, sometimes we are disturbed by the situation with media freedom in Serbia.

SOUNDBITE (English), Charles TANNOCK (ECR, UK), You still carry out joint military exercises, which of course does send, in my view, the wrong signal in terms of your Euro-Atlantic aspirations, but nevertheless that is your sovereign decision and you must look at that as you get closer to membership.
