A renowned historian specialising in tyranny and totalitarianism, Timothy Snyder writes and teaches with the hope that we might learn from history. In 2019, the ERSTE Foundation, which cites the preservation of a democratic Europe as one of its strategic goal, invited the Yale professor to deliver a speech to Europe.
