SOUNDBITE (French), Roberta METSOLA, EP President, Dear colleague, I have the duty to tell you that our beloved colleague Mich&egrave;le Rivasi died on November the 29th of November 2023. Mich&egrave;le was a tireless worker on behalf of the environment, first of all, in civil society. Then, in the French Parliament, and for the last 14 years here in the European Parliament. She was a committed woman, a fighter for the protection of the environment, for health and for all Europeans. She was both tireless and an extremely pleasant person. She fought for our fellow citizens. She was committed when it came to issues like international development. And she was hugely keen on helping Africa. She was a professor of biology. She went to one of the most prestigious universities in France, and she was always an exceptionally friendly person in the House and on behalf of the European Parliament, like to express my deepest condolences to her family, to the French Parliament and the Greens European Free Alliance Group. And I would ask you now, colleagues, to observe a minute's silence in remembrance of our colleague. Thank you, colleagues.
