MEPs return to a Brussels committee week to discuss immigration, greener cars and attend a lecture on unlocking the mysteries of the universe at CERN.

Hello. MEPs return to Brussels  on 26 November.

almost all the EP committees  will meet during the week.

We start with Tuesday 27 November with  a big debriefing planned at the Parliament

after the summit of heads of state  on the budget on 22 and 23 November.

At stake are more or less 1000 billion euros  for the next seven years.

On Tuesday science comes  to the Parliament with the Higgs Boson.

In 1964, this discovery  revolutionised physics,

putting forward a mechanism identifying  the possible existence of a particle

that would explain why matter  has mass… not clear?

Then join us Tuesday  for the annual lecture of STOA,

the Parliament organ specialised  in science and technology issues,

with special guests Professors Higgs and  Englert, the fathers of the Higgs Boson.

The two are tipped to be nominated  for the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics.

On Monday, the issues of asylum  and immigration return to the Parliament.

Cecilia Malmström, the EU Commissioner  for Home Affairs, will meet MEPs.

They'll cover the steps still remaining to  create a common European asylum system.

The aim is for the EP and Member States  to strike a deal before the end of the year.

How can our future cars  be made less polluting?

While the general trend  is a reduction in CO2 emissions,

road transport is one of the few sectors

where emissions have risen  sharply in recent years.

On Monday, automobile industry  representatives,

to reduce these emissions  by 60% by 2050.
