M aybe the scale of ambition of the Commission proposal was a bit surprising for part of the industries but most especially the agricultural and farming communities.</p>

SOUNDBITE (English), Radan KANEV (EPP, BG), Rapporteur, The main changes are certainly coming in the industrial part, I would say the far more important part of the directive, not so publically sensitive as the agricultural part, not so politically difficult but very important because there is a significant ambition to reduce polluting emissions, toxic pollution, and here, we have the agreement in between the politicoal groups that we support this ambition. What we change is a bit longer transitional period, more breathing space for industry to adapt, more flexibility, especially for the emerging and innovating techniques match. And much less bureaucracy than we saw in the Commission proposal.
