“Zu Hause in Europa / At home in Europe”: On Europe Day, May 9 is going online and live! This year’s event from German is co-hosted by the Liaison Office of the European Parliament and the Representation of the European Commission in Germany. Viewers are invited to submit questions and take part in three hybrid discussions that will be live streamed from the European House in Berlin. “At Home in Europe” invites politicians, experts, activists, and the public to discuss three topics – the Green Deal, Digitalisation, and Europe in the World – among the Erlebnis Europa (Experience Europe) exhibition.

Guests will include MEP Delara Burkhardt, climate activist Helena Marschall from Fridays for Future, Christian Holzleitner from the European Commission, Renate Nikolay – Head of Cabinet of the European Commission Vice-President Vera Jourová, MEP David McAllister and Secretary of State in the Federal Foreign Office Miguel Berger. The discussions will be in German.

“At Home in Europe” brings Europe home – European citizens can tune in online and participate by sending their questions to the broadcast. The programme will be streamed at www.zu-hause-in-europa.de and Facebook starting at 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. At 5 p.m., a compilation of all three panel discussions will be streamed on the same channels.

With MEP Delara Burkhardt, climate activist Helena Marschall from Fridays for Future, Dr. Eva Kracht Head of the Europe subdivision in the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, as well as with Christian Holzleitner from the European Commission.

 

Digitales Europa: Wie können wir im Datenstrom mitschwimmen?
(Digital Europe: How can we keep up in the data stream?)

from 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.  

In this discussion questions about “Empowerment: What can digital technologies contribute to our democracy?” will be discussed by MEP Martin Schirdewan, Renate Nikolay – Head of Cabinet of the European Commission Vice-President Věra Jourová, Prof. Dr. Maisha-Maureen Auma from Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, as well as Alexander Sängerlaub from futur eins.
