International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen 2023 Award Ceremony

The International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen 2023 is awarded to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, and to the People of Ukraine in Aachen. Zelensky is committed to the goals of the European Union and pursues European ideals and values, according to the Executive Board's statement. Roberta METSOLA, EP President, visits Lviv in Ukraine, in order to address the United for Justice conference. During her official visit, she and Volodymyr ZELENSKYY, President of Ukraine, talk to the student community of higher education institutions at the Ivan Franco National University of Lviv. Volodymyr ZELENSKYY,President of Ukraine, visits the European Parliament in Brussels. He is welcomed by Roberta METSOLA, EP President. This is the first time that President Zelenskyy come to the European Parliament in person, after addressing MEPs remotely during an extraordinary session on 1 March, shortly after Russia started its war against Ukraine, and on 14 December when Parliament’s 2022 Sakharov Prize was awarded to the brave people of Ukraine.
