It’s been a long summer  with the migrant crisis reaching boiling point. 

What is Europe’s response?  It's time to find out.

Lazy days in Strasbourg?  Not on the cards,

as Wednesday sees Commission President  Juncker make a State of the Union address.

This will be  the 'last chance Commission".

The stage is  set for an explosive debate.

Can Mr Juncker deliver  and will it be enough?

The summer saw thousands  of men, women and children

fleeing war ravaged countries  to make their way to Europe. 

Greece and Italy were the two  EU countries bearing the brunt. 

But now migrants are spilling across the  borders of many Member States. 

Hungary, finding itself  the migrant gateway to Europe,

reacted by shutting down  its train station in Budapest,

and over summer,  British and French authorities

were outsmarted  by hundreds of migrants

tearing down barriers  and running onto the tracks in Calais.
