Organised by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy in partnership with the European Commission and Europa Cinema, the LUX Audience Award celebrates European cinema and aims to raise awareness about social, political and cultural issues in Europe. This year’s nominees offer an eclectic mix of themes, approaches and visual thrills. The five films are co-produced by more than 10 countries, further displaying European cultural richness. The LUX Audience Award seeks to support European cinema and inspire discussion on topical issues. Last year, the European Parliament joined forces with the European Film Academy to organise the Award and to reach a wider audience. The LUX Audience Award is now open to all Europeans, who together with MEPs have a say in who wins the award. The three European films nominated for the LUX Audience Award 2022 are: Flee, Great Freedom and Quo Vadis, Aida?
