Not so long ago, millions of Europeans lived through times when they could not vote or even speak up freely. When their very lives could be in danger simply for being different, for holding different beliefs or for wanting a different life. Democracy is a precious gift passed on to us from previous generations. They aspired towards it and fought for it. Now it is up to us to maintain it, to make it stronger and pass it on to the generations to come. The most effective way to do so is by voting - because the more people vote, the stronger democracy becomes. On June 6-9 2024: Use your vote or others will decide for you.

Nagrado Daphne Caruana Galizia za leto 2022 prejmeta novinarja Clément Di Roma in Carol Valade za dokumentarni film z naslovom „Srednjeafriška republika pod ruskim vplivom“. Clément Di Roma je video- in fotoreporter za medijsko hišo France24 v Ruandi, Carol Valade pa je medijski poročevalec in dopisnik iz Afrike.

Bilo je leta 1989. Andrea je bil star sedem let. Živel je v italijanskem obmorskem mestu Forte dei Marmi na tirenski obali. Začel je odkrivati svet. Skupaj z družino je potoval po Italiji in Evropi – z vzhoda na zahod in s severa na jug – in videl, kaj pomenijo meje. Nato se je njegov pogled na Evropo nekega novembrskega dne leta 1989 popolnoma spremenil. Ko se je dan prevešal v noč, je Evropa dosegla prelomnico. Zbrali smo na stotine pričevanj, dokumentov, fotografij in videoposnetkov, ki so jih objavili ljudje iz vse Evrope. Gre za sodelovalni projekt Evropskega parlamenta „Moja zgodovina“, v katerem se srečujejo zgodovina in življenja evropskih državljanov. Zahvaljujemo se Rai Direzione Teche za dovoljenje za uporabo njihovega zvočnega gradiva.

The video game ecosystem has become a leading cultural and creative industry all over the world. It has an estimated European market size of EUR 23.3 billion in 2021, and it encompasses more than 4 900 game studios and 200 game publishers, with great potential for growth, innovation, creativity and triggering positive change for the whole sector.

Video games have proven to be a powerful cross-sectoral medium, successfully inspiring and drawing on many other creative and cultural industries, such as films and books. According to the Interactive Software Federation of Europe, half of all Europeans consider themselves to be video game players, of whom almost half are women, and the average age of a video game player in Europe is 31.3 years. Over 70 % of young people aged 6-24 in the EU play video games, although the majority of players are over 18.

On January 2023,&nbsp;Parliament called for gamers to be better protected from addiction and other manipulative practices, while emphasising the potential of this innovative sector.
