Evropski poslanci so pozvali k večji preglednosti glede razdelitve cepiv proti covidu-19. Predlagali so zakonodajo, ki bi evropskim delavcem zagotovila pravico do odklopa, in želijo, da dostop do primernega stanovanja postane temeljna pravica. Na zunanjepolitičnem področju so poslanci pozdravili inavguracijo Joeja Bidna, ki pomeni začetek novega poglavja v odnosih med EU in ZDA, ter pozvali k uvedbi sankcij za ruske uradnike, ki so sodelovali pri aretaciji Alekseja Navalnega.

Medtem ko se je Evropa lotila največje množične kampanje cepljenja doslej, Parlament poudarja potrebo po solidarnosti in enotnosti. Evropski poslanci pozivajo Evropsko komisijo, naj v večji meri deli informacije o cepivu proti covidu-19 in tako odpravlja negotovost.

Vaccinations against COVID-19 started across the EU on December 27 2020. The European Commission has given conditional marketing authorisation for two COVID-19 vaccines, one developed by BioNTech and Pfizer and one by Moderna Biotech Spain, S.L. after the European Medicines Agency (EMA) concluded its assessments of these vaccines. Members from the EP Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) participate in an exchange of views with Sandra GALLINA, EU’s lead negotiator on COVID-19 vaccines contracts, in the European Parliament in Brussels. The exchange of views is followed by a Q&A session, where MEPs quiz her on issues such as the EU’s procedure to approve the vaccines, what stage of the review process various vaccines have reached as well as the quantities bought by the EU.
