SOUNDBITE (English), Linda McAVAN (S&amp;D, UK), Chair of DEVE Committee, "Next week the EP I hope will vote that all countries should go for 0,7 per cent aid. But aid can only be a small part of the solution. We know that if there was a 1 percent increase in tax revenue in developing countries, just 1 percent extra tax collected, this is the equivalent of doubling aid. So, tax collection, taxation on those who are wealthy, should pay taxes. In our countries, too."

SOUNDBITE (English), Linda McAVAN (S&amp;D, UK), Chair of DEVE Committee, "Our minister, by the way, the EU Ministers are meeting at the end of May. They will take decisions on the aid budget, on other issues on finance. There are a lot of work to do to lobby all our ministers for the 27th of May, I think, who will take decisions there."

SOUNDBITE (English), Ulrike LUNACEK (Greens/EFA, AT), Vice-President for Sakharov Prize Network, "As long as we have, for example, in quite a few parts of Europe, not just the EU but also other nations, and also our minor country Austria, banking secrecy, when you cannot trace who has put the money there, and lots of very rich people, including dictators from any part of the world, put their money in very save places and nobody can find out. We are working on it, that this is being banned".

SOUNDBITE (English), Ulrike LUNACEK (Greens/EFA, AT), Vice-President for Sakharov Prize Network, "We are going to have an important vote next week, on the 19th of May which is on Conflict Minerals. We have been talking these days, also in the meeting we had in the Parliament this morning, in the DEVE Committee on that. That is about, that we have to break the chain of minerals, and those that we use for our cell phones , the electronics we have and all of that and, some others, that these resources are taken out of countries like yours. The products produced cannot be traced where they come from, that chain has to be broken. That means we need a mandatory regulation and, we need one in which the supply chain from importers where important resources also are named."

SOUNDBITE (French), Denis MUKWEGE, co-Chair of the Sakharov Prize Network and Laureate 2014, "When I speak about moral revolution, I think that it basically entails to understand that what is happening now it is not normal. They have to take responsibility to change ongoing matters. I think that, for instance, today, as you know, corruption is completely normal. If you go to Kinshasa, at the airport, you can pass by anywhere, by anybody who asks you to commit corruption as if it was a duty."

We need that change of mentality, even though in 2016 for instance, people should understand that they must choose leaders, as it is as leadership problem. But surprisingly enough, they will still choose slave drivers as leaders."

Is there a globalisation project nowadays in which child education, peace,coexistence among peoples, etcetera, would be enacted?
