SOUNDBITE (German), Martin SCHULZ (S&amp;D, DE), EP President , "The Juncker Commission is the first one that has been invested in office in terms of the Lisbon Treaty and article 17 section 7 of the Lisbon Treaty is one that was cited by Mr Juncker over and over again across several electoral platforms during the election campaign, so the European Parliament on proposal from Council will put forward the name of a candidate and that is the procedure which is now being implemented."

I do think that this is a basic principle of the European Union since the beginning. And I'm not prepared to change this, because if we are destroying the freedom of movement other freedoms will fall in a later cause, so I'm not ready to compromise in an irresponsible way."
