SOUNDBITE (French), Yannick JADOT (Greens/EFA, FR), We are in a particular COP. 2 years ago there was enormous Enthusiasm surrounding the COP in Paris, the international community set targets in line with climate change and what needs to be done about it, but here fortunately, we're under the impression of being at an empty COP. A COP where nothing is decided, and this despite the warnings from the United Nations regarding the climate action, what the States are really doing, is late compared to climate diplomacy, what they are promising, the targets we have agreed upon in the long term. We hoped for much more, a lot stronger, and we really do not have much.

SOUNDBITE (French), Yannick JADOT (Greens/EFA, FR), <p>Before, the duopoly US-China set the objectives, now the European Union pick up the leadership in the negotiation, potentially with China, but for that to happen, to be strong in the negotiation, it's necessary to be exemplary. Since the European Union is in the process of negotiating it's new targets, it's new environmental and energy policies, we have to redouble our efforts and show that the fight against climate change is not only essential for Humanity but also very good for our economy, and very good for employment it's very good for our territory.</p>
