SOUNDBITE (Italian), David SASSOLI, EP President, (on MFF) If we want to start a successful legislature, we must finance the projects that Ms von der Leyen has presented in the European Parliament and therefore we must have an ambitious budget, because if we copy the existing we will not have the possibility of financing many initiatives that citizens care about, which are important for our countries. An ambitious budget will allow Europe to become a leading force in the fight against climate change.

SOUNDBITE (Italian), David SASSOLI, EP President, (on Nothern Macedonia and Albania) European Parliaments position is equal to that of the European Commission. A yes to the accession process which is not a short process, it will be a long process. It is not a blank access, it is the beginning of a process, but I think it is an important signal, because the European Union due to public opinion asked for a change, to even change the Constitution. I think we should give a message that their future is with us.

SOUNDBITE (Italian), David SASSOLI, EP President, I think we have to show that Turkey has done the worst it could do by invading a country and hitting civilians and civilians who have been with us in the fight against ISSI which was increasing our security. I believe this is a very serious affair on which the European Union must take all possible measures, not only to stop this military initiative, this war, but at the same time to imply heavily sanctions on Turkey.
