The UK government’s unilateral introduction of the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill and respect for international law: MEPs debate

MEPs debate the UK government’s controversial Northern Ireland Protocol Bill, which, if implemented, would breach the EU-UK Brexit agreement. The proposed bill, which passed the second reading stage in the UK House of Commons on Monday 27 June, would allow the UK government to unilaterally ignore EU-UK arrangements for Northern Ireland after Brexit, potentially risking a trade war while breaking international law.
