MEPs have awarded Russian opposition politician and anti-corruption activist Alexei Navalny the European Parliament’s 2021 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. President Sassoli meet with Daria Navalnaya, daughter of Alexei Navalny and Leonid Volkov, one of Mr Navalny’s political advisers who served as his chief of staff during Mr Navalny’s 2018 presidential election campaign.
