A new “right to repair” must encompass long-lasting products that can be fixed, labelling to better inform consumers and extending guarantee rights. The draft text stresses that an effective right to repair should address a product’s lifecycle and take into account product design, ethical production, standardisation, labelling on reparability and on the expected lifespan of a product.
