SOUNDBITE (French), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, I am thinking of hate speeches like those which were perpetrated by the Nazis against the Jews but also against Roma people and the homosexuals and which unfortunately still continues to go on. We have to be vigilant. We don't have to be afraid because our values and our history are stronger than the hate and introlerance. Our roots, our European roots are judeo-christian roots. 

SOUNDBITE (English), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, Eurobarometer published yesterday that 50% of the Europeans see antisemitism as a problem in their country. This is unacceptable for us. We must act and react, we must reach out to citizens, in particular the young people. They are the future of Europe. Our schools and universities should not only provide skills and knowledge. They should teach the importance of solidarity, freedom and respect of human dignity.

SOUNDBITE (French), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, The message that European Parliament wants to underline today and next week is clear. There is no place for hatred and antisemitism in Europe. Together we promise to reject all acts of hatred and we continue to give sense and value to the words 'Never again.'

SOUNDBITE (English), Issac HERZOG, Chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel, <p>30% of Europeans do not know anything about the Holocaust. This is clearly a threat. I call on EU states, who are yet to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliances working definition on antisemitism, as they have been asked to do by the Council of the EU, to do so urgently. This should not be a matter of politicised debate. We must unite the efforts and goodwill of all Europeans, so that we can again overcome hatred and move our societies towards progress. </p>
