They will be widely distributed in Europe and therefore represent the mechanism through which we can achieve the objectives of containing emissions in the coming years, both in transport and in daily life. All batteries are included in this regulation, from the smallest to the industrial ones, and important messages are prepared precisely on the issue of the carbon footprint, on the minimum recycled content, on performance standards. So a courageous regulation that imposes an idea of a recycling industry. A circular industry that does not exist today in Europe and that will have to become the real industry in which to develop batteries to make European batteries the most advanced batteries in the world.

The first improvement was to also include batteries, light batteries for light vehicles, scooters and electric bikes that are present on our streets. And then again we wanted to ensure in Parliament that batteries have information content for the consumer. Every a battery will be accompanied by a kind of digital passport that will give all the information also on the durability of the batteries of the batteries themselves. Finally, there is an ethical component and due diligence will be mandatory to ensure that where there are quarries, in particular, for example of critical materials such as lithium, human rights, the rights against child labor, are respected.
