Introductory remarks by Antonio TAJANI, EP President: minute of silence for the victims of the tsunami on the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia

SOUNDBITE (Italian), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, I like to spear a thought to the victims of the earthquake and the tsunami which has caused more than 1200 death in Indonesia.

SOUNDBITE (Italian), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, The European Union has released some initial Humanitarian assistance, of 1.5 Million Euro to help with food supplies and housing. And Copernicus, the satellite system will also be deployed to provide help. We like to send our sincere condolences to the victims&rsquo; families, the Indonesian authorities and I like to ask you to respect a minute of silence in memory of those who lost their lives in this disaster.
