SOUNDBITE (FR) David DASSOLI, EP President: It is my first day as President of the European Parliament and I came back from Strasbourg yesterday evening, and the first symbolic act is for all martyrs, all victims of terrorism in Europe, are these flowers in the name of the parliament in memory of the victims of terrorism in the capital of Europe. We have to keep our resolve against violence and terrorism, and we mustn&rsquo;t forget our martyrs. It is for me a special day, the beginning of my activity as President and we mustn&rsquo;t forget all the victims that suffered, the families and friends, that are European citizens. And that is very important.

SOUNDBITE (IT) David DASSOLI, EP President: It is my first day as President of the European Parliament and I wanted to pay tribute to the victims of terrorism in the Capital of Europe, remembering all victims of terrorism. We must not forget that we must be a place of peace, that violence and terrorism bathed our countries in blood. We must be firm in the fight against terrorism and violence, and I think that this symbolic act in the name of all parliamentarians, is a responsibility and a raising of awareness that we need in order to give a good start to the legislature in the name of the citizens.
