Enhanced cooperation; European Public Prosecutor's Office: extracts from the vote on the report Barbara MATERA (EPP, IT) and from the debate (04/10)

During the EP plenary session (2-5 October 2017) in Strasbourg, MEPs are set to give the green light to stepping up judicial cooperation among 20 EU member states by establishing a European Public Prosecutor's Office. As an independent body, the Prosecutor’s Office will fight fraud and misuse of European funds. They debate and vote on the report Barbara MATERA (EPP, IT). Statements by Barbara MATERA (EPP, IT), Rapporteur,Vera JOUROVA, Member of the EC in charge of Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, Sylvia-Yvonne KAUFMANN (S&D, DE) and Louis MICHEL (ALDE, BE). The results are: 631 voters, 456 in favour, 115 against, 60 abstention.
