SOUNDBITE (Italian), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, <p>Meanwhile let's first clarify the position. What the UK intends to do? Do they want to remain in the European Union withdrawing article 50 and then deciding to hold a referendum, to understand the British peoples will or go to early elections?  We don't really know what the British wants.</p>  <p>Once we will know what the British intentions are, what they want to ask Europe for, the European Council will have to give a clear, precise answer. It is not a question of time nor a question of content. The European Parliament do not want to be caught in a trap. It is not a big hotel where you go in and out. The European Parliament is the house of democracy, it&rsquo;s my duty is to defend democracy, to defend the dignity of parliamentarians and defend the dignity of voters who choose their representatives.</p>
