Opening remarks by Martin SCHULZ, EP President on the bus accident in Libourne (France)

SOUNDBITE (German), Martin SCHULZ, EP President, "Last Friday morning a bus collided with a truck near Bordeaux. Both vehicules went in flames and burnt down. It was one of the worst ever bus accidents in Europe and 43 people died, mostly seniors on holidays in the Pirenees, just kilometres away from their places of origin. Being here in France, I would like to wish, in the name of the European Parliament, the families of the injured a full and quick recovery and express my deepest condolences to the families of those who died. Our thoughts are with the victims and we wish strength to the families in overcoming their loss."
