The background to this is that we wish to try to allow people who want to read an article to do so on the website of the media entity rather than the platform.

SOUNDBITE (English), Sajjad KARIM (ECR, UK), Shadow-rapporteur, Course when it comes to text and data mining the United Kingdom is the lead nation within the European Union on that. So there was a need to factor in a Brexit impact as well. So that's already coming through now. As a British MEP I still don't know quite where the Brexit train is going to stop or when it's going to stop. But it's quite right that the European Union is already factoring in that.

SOUNDBITE (German), Axel VOSS (EPP, DE), Rapporteur, The very small platforms with a global turnover of up to 10 million euro and who have 5 million users monthly or up to three years. So there you have certain parameters certain sizes which we looked at and we say for those small platforms that they don't have the same responsibilities.
