Despite the good election results   of the biggest member parties,

Europe of freedom and democracy   started out as the smallest group.

It emerged from two groups, conservative   and Eurosceptic, that had broken up.

The British delegation   advocates withdrawal from the EU.

EFD opposes the vision of   an EU that grows closer together

with the free co-operation   of peoples of different nations.

The priority of our group is   to defend the principle of subsidiarity:

Europe shouldn't do the things that   national or local authorities can do.

The Lega Nord party calls for Europe   to take charge of illegal migration

because maritime borders belong   not only to France, Spain, Malta or Italy,

but they are the borders   of the whole Union.

Therefore it's important   to develop Frontex, the European body

in charge of controlling   and fighting illegal immigration.
