EU Vaccine Strategy
Pasākuma datums: 07/01/2021
Developing and deploying an effective and safe vaccine worldwide is likely to be the only way to end the COVID-19 pandemic. To this end, the Commission has proposed an EU vaccines strategy for COVID-19 and listed key steps for effective vaccination strategies and vaccine deployment.
The Commission has also entered into advance purchase agreements with several pharmaceutical laboratories in order to create a portfolio of potential vaccines against COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Any vaccine must be authorised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in accordance with safety and efficacy standards.
