SOUNDBITE (French), PHILIPPE OF BELGIUM, Nobody can pretend understanding fully the sadness you are passing now. You, whom lost one of your dearest ones, you who are having within your body the traces of terrorist attacks, we wish to listen to your suffering, and respect your pain.

SOUNDBITE (English), PHILIPPE OF BELGIUM, Dear families, with countless victims around the world, you share this deep wound caused by deadly madness let me put to you this one conviction. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to make our society more humane and more just. Let us learn to listen to each other again, to respect each other&rsquo;s weaknesses and to put them right, and above all let us there to be tender.

SOUNDBITE (French), Sarah ESMAEL FAZAL , the sister of Sabrina Fazal, a victim who died in Maelbeek , When we found this text we said to ourselves: it's like she knew it. It's as Sabrina is joining us beyond the death, encouraging us to not go into hate and vengeance, as she was bringing to us a part of her sweetness. She was speaking about hope, about unity, about mutual aid. It's a message of love and peace which defines her so well, that I wish to share with you today, and I request you to share it around you trough out the world. Please do it in such a way that not all those beautiful souls were sacrificed for nothing. Promise to yourself to take care of one another, as Sabrina would have liked it :

"God, make me an instrument of your peace, there where is hate, to bring love.; there where is offense, to bring the forgiveness; there where is discord, to bring union; there where is error, to bring the truth; there where is doubt, to bring faith; there where is despair, to bring the hope; there where is the darkness to bring lights; there where is sadness, to bring the joy; that I do not seek for being consoled, or understood, but to understand; not seeking for being loved, but to love. It is because when we give, we receive; when we forget ourselves we find ourselves; when we forgive we are forgiven; is while we die that we resurrect to the eternal life."

SOUNDBITE (Dutch), Wim HERMANS, representative of the emergency and rescue services, All first aid units have done what they could do and they went over their limits. Even if we want to be heroes, but we are not and we cannot go back in time. And we cannot let go sentiments of loss and sorrow, it should be more the contrary. The first aid units had been also deeply touched and they shouldn't feel helpless towards this senseless violence.

I'm from Turkish descent and I would like to finish with a quotation of 'RUMI' (Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī,). ''Come, come because it does not matter who you are, if you are a Jew, a Christian, a Muslim or a Buddhist, the only thing that matters is that you are a Human.'' I'm Ali Hakil and I have lost my son, I lost my pepper and salt in life, my taste and I thank everybody for the support in those difficult times.

The King places a wreath of flowers with the inscription "Homage from the Nation" before the monument.
