SOUNDBITE (English), Salih Mahmoud OSMAN, Sakharov Prize winner, We ask you to do not lose the momentum of justice and accountability, if you keep silence that means you are encouraging impunity in our country. We demand you to stand with us when we demand an international independence and fair commission to investigate to find out who is responsible for the killings of hundreds of people.

SOUNDBITE (Spanish), Lorent SALEH, Sakharov Prize winner, Organised crime took over the political power in my country and politicians are taken advantage of this and they refuse to let go and this has resulted in a state of terror, complete terror. The systematic use of torture to oppress the civil population and to keep impunity. 

SOUNDBITE (French), Isabel WISELER-LIMA (EPP, LU), Are the sanctions that have been taken efficient? Do you think there should be other measures, other sanctions?

SOUNDBITE (Portuguese), Isabel SANTOS (S&amp;D, PT), What would be the most effective tools that we can use to solve the problem? The same question applies as regard humanitarian aid.

SOUNDBITE (Spanish), Lorent SALEH, Sakharov Prize winner, The best humanitarian aid that you could provide to us from Europe is to condemn those criminals who are responsible for the situation. Humanitarian aid, milk, cheese, meat, which the Venezuelan people need, all those things should be produce in Venezuela, and what we need to do is to unseat a dictatorship which is not providing that food to its people, what is happening is that the military is in control and they do not cultivate anything. 

SOUNDBITE (Spanish), Lorent SALEH, Sakharov Prize winner,  I would prefer these sanctions to be impose in those economic operator who are involved in the dictatorship than rather flying planes with bombs to my country. The fact that Europe is showing itself so timid is leading the way to a military intervention in Venezuela and we do not know where this is going to end. The more timid we show ourselves in the use of diplomatic instruments, the more and closer we are moving towards violence. 

SOUNDBITE (English), Salih Mahmoud OSMAN, Sakharov Prize winner, <p>Please, do not forget about the legitimate rights of the people of Sudan to continue with the steps restoring democracy, the independence of judiciary, the establishment of the rule of law, fighting impunity, bringing perpetrators who are implicated in a commission of horrible and serious  crimes, stealing their position. </p>
