SOUNDBITE (English), Kathleen VAN BREMPT (S&amp;D, BE), As we all know this is what we can call an intermediate COP, so that means no hard deadlines for certain results. Nevertheless it's important that we make some advancement on the Talanoa dialogue, that is very important, but also on the financing. This is a very delicate issue, what about the financing and we should make a better agreement on financing, also at the EU level. And last but not least, the engagements pre-2020, and the Doha amendment, there we have has the European Union a special task I think, to make sure that we can have a ratification there.

SOUNDBITE (English), Kathleen VAN BREMPT (S&amp;D, BE), I strongly believe, at European level, to be a front runner, to be taking the lead, on policy implementing Paris, but the commission and the European Parliament themselves or not sufficient, we need the member states. And often it is the member states that are lagging behind, that are not supporting important new legislation, I see that all the time, even on a daily basis. And then it's important that Merkel and Macron and hopefully others, take up engagement, public engagement, then it's much more difficult to say the one thing publicly and on the other hand try to undermine legislation at the European level.
