EP LIBE delegation to Latvia and Lithuania: arrival of the delegation to Vilinius in Lithuania and visit of the Naujininkai Reception Centre (02/03)

A fact-finding mission of MEPs takes place from 1-3 March and focus on migration issues in Latvia and Lithuania. The main objective of this visit is to assess the situation of migrants and applicants for international protection in both countries and at the borders with Belarus. MEPs plan to meet with government representatives, Ombudsmen, Frontex, EU Asylum Agency, international humanitarian organisations and non-governmental organisations active on asylum, migration and human rights issues.
